On 9/27/2020 at 1538hrs Officers received a call for a retail theft in progress at the Home Depot, located at 295 Armand Hammer Blvd. It was reported that the male put several items into his backpack and then fled the store.
Officers arrived to the area and were able to locate the male, later identified as Donald Chambers of Linfield PA, fleeing in a wooded area behind the stores. Officers did pursue Chambers on foot. Chambers ran to and then across route 422. Officers lost sight of Chambers as he was running around on 422. Chambers eventually entered the woods on the shoulder of 422.
Later in the day, at 1828hrs, Officers received a call for a male who fit the earlier description, sitting on a porch in the 2000 block of East High Street. Officers arrived and located Chambers. Once again, Chambers attempted to flee officers on foot. Officers were able to catch up to Chambers. Chambers did resist arrest, and attempted to fight with Officers, before being taken into custody.
Chambers was found to be in possession of merchandise from the Home Depot. He was also found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. It was discovered that Chambers also took items from a vehicle in the 2000 block of East High Street. Chambers faces charges of Aggravated Assault, several theft charges, resisting arrest, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass, and recklessly endangering another person. Chambers also had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
