On 9/23/2020 at 2106hrs Officers were dispatched to the Redner’s at 1300 North Charlotte Street for a theft in progress.  Officers arrived on scene to learn that the suspect had assaulted the store manager as he fled the store with stolen merchandise.  The manager informed the responding Officer that the suspect had fled behind a nearby store.  The Officer did locate the male suspect, identified as Daniel Hancotte III of Phoenixville, fleeing through a wooded area behind the stores.  The Officer was able to apprehend Hancotte in the wooded area.

          HANCOTTE was arrested for this incident and transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility for housing and processing.  He faces charges of Robbery, Assault, Retail Theft, and related charges.  He was also found to have a previous warrant issued for his arrest.
