The Lower Moreland Twp Police Department is warning residents of a recent burglary trend in which a male suspect, dressed as a utility worker, has been gaining entry into homes under false pretenses. The suspect's intention is to burglarize the residence, putting homeowners and their valuables at risk.

To protect yourself and your property, please be cautious of individuals claiming to be utility workers who:

• Arrive at your doorstep unannounced
• Do not have a scheduled appointment or legitimate reason for visiting your home
• Are not wearing proper identification or uniforms

If you encounter someone matching this description, do not let them into your home. Instead:

• Verify their identity and purpose by contacting the utility company directly
• Ask for a supervisor or additional assistance if you are unsure
• Call the police immediately if you feel threatened or unsafe

This pattern has happened along our border with Philadelphia, on their side.
