The Lower Moreland Township Police Department started the first Mountain Bicycle Unit in 2020.  Six (6) officers have been certified through the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA).  The normal duties for the bicycle unit officers is patrol and to provide visibility on the township trails, parks, and harder to reach locations.  The bike unit interacts with the public at community events.
