Chief's Message:

Welcome to all of the residents of the Lower Moreland Community and all of those who work and travel in Our Town. The Lower Moreland Police Department is committed to providing the finest police services possible, while being connected to the community and building better relationships between law enforcement and everyone with whom we come in contact.

Our department is tasked with providing services including emergency response, high visibility patrol, community engagement, quality criminal investigations and addressing traffic safety issues. Paramount in every aspect of our work is protection of the rights of all those with whom we interact.

We strive to collaborate with the greater law enforcement community to maximize our capabilities. LMPD members also serve on the Montgomery County SWAT – East Region, Montgomery County Drug Task Force, Regional Crash Investigation Team and FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, among others.

In addition to our sworn officers, we also have a team of civilian staff who support LMPD’s mission in a variety of ways. The civilian team handles duties including evidence custody and processing, training coordination, records management and car seat installation, as well as managing our regional booking center and internship program.

Thank you for the opportunity and honor to serve as the Chief of Police in Lower Moreland Township. With the amazing men and women of the LMPD, both sworn and unsworn, we have created a modern, proactive, community-oriented police agency which has quickly become a leader within our region. I am confident there is no finer staff serving anywhere than right here in your hometown.

On behalf of each member of this organization, I want to express our commitment to always performing our duties in accordance to our Core Values of SACRIFICE, ETHICS, RESPECT, VALOR, INNOVATION, COMPASSION and EXCELLENCE as we strive to maintain the quality of life that you expect here in Lower Moreland Township.

Yours in Service,

David J. Scirrotto
