On Saturday, October 18, 2025, we were out with the Montgomery County Park Rangers to educate the public on the approved updates to the County's trail policy. Officer Pasqueal was able to utilize the radar gun to check the speed of passing e-bikers.
To keep Montco’s increasingly popular trail network safe and enjoyable for everyone, the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners has approved updates to the County’s trail policy.
What’s New
The fine for violating any trail regulation is now $300 (up from $100). Clearer rules on what qualifies as approved e-bike use on the trails:
~E-bike must weigh under 100 lbs
~E-bike motor must be 750 watts or less
~E-bikes are only allowed where bikes are allowed
~Speed limit is 15 MPH
Whether you're riding an e-bike or just enjoying the trails, please follow the rules to help protect our shared spaces so we can all be #MontcoTrailSafe.
