The Lower Moreland Township Police Department would like to remind all cyclists, e-bike and scooter operators, and motorists that bicycle and e-vehicle safety is a shared responsibility.
It's vital that everyone does their part to prevent accidents and ensure our roads are safe for everyone.
Helmets are mandatory for riders under 12, but it's highly recommended for anyone operating a bicycle, e-bike or e-scooter to wear proper safety gear to minimize potential injuries in the event of an accident.
Motorists, please be aware of your surroundings and maintain a safe distance of at least 4 feet from bicyclists when sharing the road.
Additionally, electric scooters and e-bikes have become a popular way to get around, but their legal status in Pennsylvania can be confusing. See the attached fact sheet on where you can and can’t legally ride your electric scooter and e-bikes.
