Lower Moreland Police has been receiving an influx of reports of theft from motor vehicles from the Pennypack Trailheads at 800 Welsh Rd and 1750 Byberry Rd. We want to remind you again on the importance of not leaving your belongings in the vehicle, especially your driver's license. Your ID's are the most sought after item and you can be a victim of identity theft if criminals get a hold of it. Detectives are advising the public to purchase a card holder for the back of your phone, fannypack, or athletic bag to keep everything in your possession.
On Thursday, September 22, officers responded to a suspicious male who was looking into vehicle windows and a bystander was able to capture it on video. See attached images of the male, who was driving a 2013 Silver Nissan Altima, as well as the other suspect vehicles observed entering these lots.
If you frequent the trails and you see something suspicious, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY! There's no call too small when it comes to saving the public from being victimized.
