On Thursday, February 24, 2022 at approximately 9:27 p.m. the Lower Moreland Police Department responded to the area of Red Lion Road and Philmont Avenue for the report of a single vehicle collision.  The lone vehicle involved left the roadway and struck a pedestrian bridge.  There were two occupants in the vehicle and the driver was pronounced deceased on arrival at the Hospital.  The passenger in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  The roadway remained closed for several hours for the investigation but is now completely re-opened.  The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending all family notifications.  Alcohol is suspected to have played a part in the collision.  The Lower Moreland Police Department is continuing to investigate the matter and any witnesses to the collision are encouraged to call Lower Moreland Police at 215-947-3132.
