On February 28, 2019 at 1:36 PM, the Hatfield Township Department responded to the Colmar Train Station located at 109 Bethlehem Pike in the Colmar section of Hatfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania for the report of a struck pedestrian.
Investigation on scene determined a male had been on the railroad tracks and was struck and killed by an oncoming train which was traveling eastbound as it approached the Colmar Train Station. Following impact, the train was stopped by the engineer.
The Hatfield Township Police Department is working with the Southeastern Transportation Authority (SEPTA) on this ongoing investigation.
The Hatfield Township Police Department is not releasing the name of the struck pedestrian or any additional information at this time.
The Hatfield Township Police Department was assisted on scene by the Volunteer Medical Service Corps., the Montgomery Township Police Department, Montgomery Township Fire Police, North Wales Fire Police, Souderton Fire Police and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority.
