On June 28, 2023, at approximately 9:31 PM, the Hatfield Township Police Department responded to the area of Bethlehem Pike and Walnut Street for a motor vehicle crash with a pedestrian struck.

Upon arrival, officers determined a 2023 Hyundai Sonata was traveling northbound on Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield Township. At that time, a juvenile male attempted to cross Bethlehem Pike through traffic. The vehicle struck the juvenile, and the juvenile was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Hatfield Township Police Department Highway Safety Unit is continuing its investigation into this crash. Assisting agencies at the scene were the Colmar Fire Company and Fire Police, Montgomery Township Police Department, Montgomery Township Fire Police, and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale.
