The Juvenile Unit of the Plymouth Township Police Department is charged with the investigation of all juvenile related crime, including status offenses (underage drinking and runaways) and crimes against children.
The Juvenile Unit uses a unique and multi-faceted approach in educating and rehabilitating juvenile offenders.
The Juvenile Unit works closely with the Community Policing Unit to provide education to area children through school based activities and community programs.
Additionally, the Juvenile Unit continually reviews incidents to determine if a juvenile offender is an appropriate candidate for diversion into the Montgomery County Youth Aid Panel Program. This program is a pre-arrest program available for some first time juvenile offenders.
The Juvenile Unit is prepared to meet any challenge and it is reflected through our high level of commitment, training and fitness.
