On Saturday May 18th, family, friends, and community members gathered for the dedication of an upgraded community space in honor of Officer Ryan Allen. Officer Allen tragically passed away in April of 2022, several months after he was stung by a bee, causing a severe medical reaction resulting in cardiac arrest. The community space, which is located on York Road between Moreland Avenue and Byberry Road, features numerous planters and seating areas for people to gather and relax. In 2022, when the Borough of Hatboro was selected as the recipient of a T-Mobile grant to be used to upgrade a community space, it was decided this area would be dedicated in Officer Allen's honor. On behalf of the Hatboro Police Department and the Borough of Hatboro, thanks to all who made this possible and joined us for the dedication.
