Back to School Safety Reminder!
School is back in session, and that means more children walking, biking, and crossing streets near our schools. Let’s all work together to keep our students safe!

Attention Motorists:
• Slow down in school zones – speed limits are strictly enforced.
• Stay alert for children at crosswalks, intersections, and school bus stops.
• Never pass a stopped school bus – it’s illegal and dangerous.
• Put the phone down – distracted driving can cost lives, and it's illegal.

For Students and Parents:
• Always use designated crosswalks and wait for the crossing guard’s signal before crossing.
• Follow the crossing guard’s directions – they are there to keep you safe.
• Cross quickly and carefully – no running, but don’t linger in the road.
• Dismount bicycles, scooters, and skateboards before crossing major streets. Walk them across to stay in control and visible.
• Avoid distractions like phones or headphones when crossing.
• Make eye contact with drivers before stepping into the street.
Crossing guards are there to help — please respect and follow their instructions. Let’s set a good example for our students and help them build safe habits that last a lifetime. Together, we can make sure every student gets to and from school safely.
