On April 30, 2022, Officers from the Upper Moreland Police Department took part in the National Drug Take Back initiative. This effort is to collect and properly dispose of unneeded and unused medications. UMPD was able to collect a massive 202 pounds of medication!
At the same time, Officers partnered with the Giant in Willow Grove and two local food pantries to stock their shelves for residents in need by Packing Our Police Cars. In total, we were able to deliver NINE police cars full of food to the Willow Grove Baptist food pantry, and over $1400 in gift cards! Another car is packed to be delivered to the Upper Moreland Middle School food pantry to support our students dealing with food insecurities.
These successes are due to the overwhelming support from our community. Each time we ask for help supporting neighbors in need, our residents step up and valiantly answer the call. UMPD is so grateful to Giant Food Store and everyone who donated. Thank you!!!
