The Upper Moreland Police Department has seen an uptick in phone scams that traditionally targets the senior citizen community. The victim receives a phone call from someone claiming to be a grandchild that has been arrested or injured. The caller asks the victim to wire them money or obtain gift cards to get them released on bail or for medical bills. UMPD is committed to protecting our elderly community. If you would like to schedule your group for a presentation about crimes targeting the elderly, please contact Sergeant Pam Cordura at pcordura@uppermoreland.org.
