***BITCOIN SCAM ALERT***
In the past few hours, we have received several reports about a Bitcoin scam directing people to deposit money into a local Bitcoin ATM located at the Giant supermarket located at 310 S. Henderson Road.
Our victims have received a phone call from someone reporting to be from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office or the US Marshals Service. They are telling people they have an active warrant for missing jury duty or a recent court hearing. The unknown suspects then tell our victims that they need to go immediately to their banks and withdraw a large sum of money. The scammers instruct our victims to then drive directly to this Bitcoin ATM to avoid arrest.
Our victims report receiving a call with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office listed on their Caller ID. This is a SCAM!
