On Tuesday May 27th, 2025 at about 12:30 PM, Upper Merion Police Officers patrolling in the area of the King of Prussia Mall (located at 160 North Gulph Road) were alerted to a stolen vehicle nearby. Several officers began checking the area and eventually located the vehicle unoccupied in the Red Parking lot near the BoneFish Grill restaurant. The Audi had been reported stolen in New Jersey three days prior. Officers and Detectives then set up surveillance on the vehicle including the use of a police department drone.
With the assistance of King of Prussia Mall Security, a male suspect was observed via security cameras exiting the stolen vehicle and entering the mall prior to police arrival. Officers continued searching the mall and the suspect was eventually located a short time later while attempting to make a purchase. The 30 year old male from Philadelphia was taken into custody without incident. A key fob for the stolen Audi was found in the male's possession.
Upon verifying the male's identity, it was learned that he had numerous active criminal warrants from New Jersey. The warrants were for two separate carjackings, Vehicle Theft, Credit Card Fraud and several other related charges. The warrants for the male were confirmed and he was transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility to await further court proceedings.
He was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle for the Upper Merion incident.
Great teamwork by our "A" Days patrol squad, Detectives, and King of Prussia Mall Security to get this dangerous repeat offender off the street!
