DEA NATIONAL DRUG TAKEBACK
October 28, 2023 10 am to 2 pm
Twice a year, the Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day by hosting a collection site at the Lower Gwynedd Township Building located at 1130 N. Bethlehem Pike in Spring House. The Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department will be joining with the DEA, State Police, and other local law enforcement agencies in this collaborative effort focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our Nation’s medicine cabinets. A National Take-Back day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for safe destruction. This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse. Any controlled, non-controlled, and over-the-counter medications will be accepted for safe disposal, Sharps and syringes will not be accepted due to safety concerns about the potential threat of blood-borne pathogens.
