Serious Crash on Black Rock Road Involving Motorcycle and Minivan

On June 3rd, 2024, at approximately 2:20 PM, the Upper Providence Police Department was dispatched to a serious motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a minivan on Black Rock Road just east of Olympic Road. The motorcycle rider, whose identity is currently being withheld, is a 22-year-old male from the Limerick area and has been listed in critical condition. Emergency responders arrived quickly on the scene, providing immediate medical attention before transporting the rider to nearby trauma center. The rider's injuries are severe, and he remains under intensive care. The driver of the minivan sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The driver is fully cooperating with police as the investigation into the crash continues.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling east on Black Rock Road and lost control on the curve at Olympic Road. The motorcycle then entered the westbound lane and struck the minivan. The Western Montgomery County Regional Crash Team responded to investigate the crash. The responding team consisted of Upper Providence Township Officers, a Lower Providence Township Officer, and a Phoenixville Borough Police Officer. Other emergency responders included the Upper Providence Township Fire Department, Friendship Ambulance, and Lower Providence Ambulance.
