Electric Company Phone Scam
After yesterday's storms, many of us are eager to have our power be restored. Do not fall victim to the electric company scam.
In a common phone scam, someone will impersonate an electric company worker and demand payment, or they will terminate your service. The scammer may even use a fake or "spoofed" phone number that appears to be your electric provider. PECO reminds customers that they will never call you for a bill payment in cash, prepaid credit card, or gift cards.
Upper Providence Police Department always reminds residents to never giver personal information over the phone and never send money to someone you do not know.
