Our department is investigating three stolen vehicles from the Royersford area of Upper Providence Township overnight.
Three vehicles were stolen from the area of Roboda Boulevard and Vaughn Road sometime overnight from March 12th into the 13th. All three vehicles were Hondas, and all three were locked. The owners still have the key fobs in their possession. Honda vehicles, like many modern cars with keyless entry, are vulnerable to theft via key fob signal interception, and thieves are using devices to capture and relay the signal to unlock and start the car. To protect your Honda, consider using a Faraday bag or pouch to block the transmission of electromagnetic signals from your key fob.
If you live in the area, please review your home surveillance footage to identify any suspicious activity. If you believe you have footage that may help our investigators, please contact Detective Sergeant Haines at phaines@uprov-montco.org, or call (610) 933-7899.
