Royersford Borough is proud to offer a safe way to dispose of medications! More than 119,000 pounds of unused prescription and over-the-counter medicines and pills have been collected in Montgomery County since the drug disposal program began in 2010. The aim of the program is to make homes safer in order to prevent overdoses and accidents, while also providing a method for residents to securely dispose these unwanted or expired medications in an environmentally safe and convenient way as opposed to disposing medication in the trash or sewer system. The program is a partnership with the Montgomery County Police Chiefs Association and the District Attorney's Office.
Accepted: Prescription medications, prescription ointments, prescription patches, medications for pets, medication samples, vitamins, other prescriptions.
NOT ACCEPTED: Aerosol cans, hydrogen peroxide, inhalers, liquids, lotions, medications from businesses or clinics, needles, thermometers.
