The Wissahickon School District, Ambler Borough Police Department, and several surrounding police departments have partnered with a company called Bus Patrol. Bus Patrol equipes school buses with camera's which monitor school bus violations. If a vehicle is observed on camera making a violation, a video of the violation is recorded as well as a picture of the vehicle registration. This video will be reviewed by employees of Bus Patrol and if they decide it is a clear violation it will be sent to the appropriate police jurisdiction. The officer will review the video and if he/she determines it's a violation a civil citation will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.
The civil citation is $300 dollars if you pay the fine or if a hearing is requested it will be held at the local magistrate's office where the violation occurred.
