The Paul Miller Law (Starts June 5, 2025 )
Attention Borough Residents:
The Ambler Borough Police Department would like to inform the public of a new law that was recently passed. It is called the Paul Miller Law!
This law will take effect on June 5, 2025, the law makes it illegal to hold a mobile device while driving. This includes dialing and answering a mobile device even at red lights or while your vehicle is stopped in traffic.
History:
Paul Miller Jr. was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident with a tractor-trailer in 2010 in Monroe County as the result of a distracted driver who reached for their phone while driving. Since Paul’s death, Eileen Miller, Paul Miller's Mother, has become a national advocate for stronger laws to curb distracted driving.
