Fire crews are battling a house fire in the 100 block of Hancock Road, Upper Gwynedd Township. At 2:18am, Upper Gwynedd Police and Fire units responded to find the interior of the single family home well involved. No residents were inside but a cat and 2 dogs were still inside. Crews from surrounding fire companies responded and together they knocked down the fire and searched for the family pets. The cat was located first and was barely breathing. She was given oxygen for about 20 minutes and has greatly improved. After about 20 minutes of looking, both dogs were located and found to be in pretty good health. Firefighters from North Penn, Fairmount, Montgomery Township, Wissahickon, Skippack and Center Square and the Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corp’s responded to assist. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
