On March 27th, 2021 at approximately 2317 hours, Upper Gwynedd Police was dispatched to Lansdale Hospital for a report of an assault victim. Upon arrival, Officer Fahem met with the victim who resides in Upper Gwynedd Township. She stated her boyfriend, later identified as Jean Roody Evans-Saintmarc, had assaulted her around 1845 hours on March 27th 2021. She stated Evans-Saintmarc came to her residence around 1830 after they had been arguing on the phone. She stated that she sat on the bottom step of her staircase in the hallway while Evans-Saintmarc was inside the residence. Evans-Saintmarc then engaged her in conversation over the arguments they had over the phone, at which point she told him that she was less than interested in speaking with him. She stated that this was when he lost his temper and punched her on the left side of her face. This caused her to fall backwards. Evans-Saintmarc then continued to attack her by stomping on her face, which caused an injury and she started bleeding. The victim stated she then covered her face and Evans-Saintmarc ran out of the house and fled in his car.
Evans-Saintmarc was taken into custody on April 6, 2021 and arraigned before Judge Leonard. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 1030.
