On May 10, 2018 Murray Kia reported the Plymouth Township Police Department that a finance manager, Matthew Bono, is suspected of compromising a credit card belonging to a customer. An initial investigation revealed that Bono did in fact compromise a credit card belonging to a customer at the dealership. Bono was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Use of a Computer, Access Device Fraud, Identity Theft, Theft by Deception and Receiving Stolen Property.
On May 10, 2018 Matthew Bono was arraigned by Judge Harry J. Nexbitt III. Bail was set at $5,000 cash and a Preliminary Hearing date is set for May 29, 2018 at 0900 hours.
A further investigation has revealed at least 6 additional victims of this fraud. Additional charges are expected to be filed on May 29, 2018.
