LPPD Hires New Officer

At the December 3rd, 2018 Board of Commissioners meeting, Lower Pottsgrove Police welcomed its newest officer.  Officer Aaron Diefenderfer was sworn in by Magisterial District Justice Maurice Saylor.  Ofc. Diefenderfer will replace Officer Robert Diesinger who recently was honorably discharged after serving 17 years with the department.  Officer Diesinger was instrumental with the departments community outreach programs and traffic safety.  During his tenure, Ofc. Diesinger took pride in organizing the children's bicycle rodeo, fish derby and worked with other staff on our community day event.  He was active in the departments bicycle patrol unit.  He handled many of the townships traffic safety studies as traffic safety officer and was the sole certified child safety seat inspection officer.

Ofc. Diefenderfer is 23 years of age.  He worked as a police officer for the City of Philadelphia, 39th District since March 2017.  He currently holds certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and has extensive background in Fire/Rescue.  He continues studies in Political Science and Emergency Management.  He attended both West Chester University and Neumann University and has earned over 90 credits toward his Bachelors degree.  He will begin service with Lower Pottsgrove PD on December 4th, 2018.

The Department will swear in another officer, Michael Tantorno, Jr. in January 2019.  Tantorno will be hired to replace an officer due to retire in 2019.
