Homeowner Scam

On November 28th, 2018 a resident on High Street stated that a female in a blue car pulled to the curb in front of their home. She pulled to the curb just ahead of the mail delivery person. They believe that once the mailman left, she walked to their mailbox and placed an envelope into the mailbox. They suspect this because the envelope was the only one without any cancellation marks on it like you would see with mail coming via the U.S. Postal Service. The home owner called the phone number on the letter and found that the company is based in Florida. The home owner did not give them any personal information over the phone. A copy of this letter is attached to this post.

Letters such as this are highly suspected to be a scam. All proper mailings should have some type of cancellation stamp on the envelope from your Postal Service. If you have any questions about your home mortgage, please contact them directly. If you receive any mailings that do not appear to be officially sent via the U.S. Postal Service, please contact the Post Office and your local police department. Please do not give any personal information over the phone.
