Lower Pottsgrove Township Experiencing Uptick in Thefts from Unlocked Vehicles

Between July 1, 2019 and July 9, 2019, Lower Pottsgrove Police have fielded approximately 15 complaints of thefts from unlocked vehicles.  The thefts have occurred during the overnight hours in various developments throughout the township.  Areas identified as being victimized to date include Sanatoga Rd, Village Lane, Danny Rd, Buchert Rd, Oak Drive, Creekside Dr., Brookview Ln, Randy Drive, Lee Drive and Grant Way.  Police are actively investigating the crime spree.  It is likely the thefts involve the same actor(s).  Items stolen include a handgun, loose change, electronics and various other valuables.  In all cases the common denominator has been the vehicles targeted have been left unlocked.   Police encourage everyone to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock the car doors when left unattended.  We also ask that our residents call police if they see or hear anything suspicious in their neighborhoods.  Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to contact police at (610-326-1508)
