On June 5, 2022, officers responded to 3215 Philmont Avenue for a vehicle crash into a pole. By county radio, Toyota telematic indicated a Toyota Corolla was involved in an accident at the above location.
Upon arrival, officers observed vehicle parts and debris on the roadway. There was no vehicle on location. It appeared the vehicle involved in the crash drove off its travel lane and struck the curb and stone landscaping in front of 3215 Philmont Ave. Officers began to survey the area for the vehicle and driver.
An unoccupied white Toyota Corolla with heavy front damage was found in a lot at the intersection of Byberry Road and Philmont Avenue. Officers continued to survey the area for the driver. In the vehicle, officers observed an open metal beer can in plain view and more sealed cans on the floor of the front passenger's side.
The driver was located nearby and given a transport back to his vehicle. The driver, owner, and sole occupant was identified as Dustin Farrell. Officers observed Farrell to have glassy eyes and alcohol emanating from his breath while speaking with him.
Upon further investigation and field sobriety tests, Farrell was believed to be intoxicated on alcohol to a degree that rendered him incapable to safely operate a motor vehicle and was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicious of DUI.
