On 06/25/2022, officers were on patrol traveling northbound on Philmont Avenue approaching Red Lion Road. Officers observed a black Chevrolet Impala make a left turn onto Philmont Avenue from Red Lion Road, completing the turn and continuing southbound on Philmont Avenue. Officers observed the side and the rear windows were tinted to a degree that officers were not able to see inside.
Officers turned around to follow the vehicle, caught up, and observed that registration plate was obscured with a dark plastic cover. Checks on the registration revealed that the vehicle was registered to Haroon Anwari. The vehicle was observed conducting many traffic violations. A traffic stop was initiated. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle continued traveling south on Valley Road, for approximately half a mile. The Chevrolet eventually stopped just west of Valley Road.
Officers approached the vehicle, observed all of the windows down, and made contact with the operator and sole occupant, Haroon Anwari. A strong odor of marijuana was
emanating from the vehicle.
The Chevrolet's inspection stickers were noted to have expired in April of 2022.
After further conversation and investigation, Anwari gave verbal consent to search his vehicle.
The following contraband was seized from the Chevrolet:
1. Cash totaling in $4,694.00.
2. XXXX (Number) of zip-lock bags containing marijuana.
3. XXX (Number) of packages with cannabis oil.
4. Drug paraphernalia.
5. Logo stickers.
6. Zip-lock baggies, paper boxes with logos, measuring cup.
7. Packages with rolling papers and logos on them.
8. One hundred forty-three rubber bands inside.
Anwari was placed in custody for the listed charges.
