On February 28, 2019 at 1:36 PM, the Hatfield Township Department responded to the Colmar Train Station located at 109 Bethlehem Pike in the Colmar section of Hatfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania for the report of a struck pedestrian.

Investigation on scene determined a male had been on the railroad tracks and was struck and killed by an oncoming train which was traveling eastbound as it approached the Colmar Train Station. Following impact, the train was stopped by the engineer.

     Due to the severe winter storm affecting our region, Hatfield Township Chief of Police William J. Tierney has declared a snow emergency for both Hatfield Township and Hatfield Borough, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania Effective as of 11:50 AM today, February 20, 2019.  It will remain in effect for the duration of the storm.

School Road between Bramblegate Drive and East Vine Street is no longer closed.

School Road is temporarily closed between Bramblegate Drive and East Vine Street due to a water main break. The repair work is currently underway.

Orvilla Road between Maple Avenue and Brush Hollow Road, is closed until further notice due to utility pole repairs. Please DO NOT attempt to drive around barricades.

The written examination for Probationary Police Officer has been rescheduled due to the impending weather.  There are TWO new dates for the exam pending your availability:  Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 9AM OR Monday, November 19, 2018 at 6PM.  The location for the exam has not changed -- it will still be held at North Penn Area High School.
