On Saturday, July 6, 2019, at approximately 3:55 P.M., the Hatfield Township Police Department responded to the area of Bethlehem Pike and Unionville Pike for a report of a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle, with injuries.
Upon arrival, Police found that a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle had been traveling southbound on Bethlehem Pike through the intersection. A gray Chevrolet Impala was turning left from the northbound left turn lane to enter the Wawa and crossed directly in front of the Harley Davidson. The rider applied his brakes, which resulted in the motorcycle falling over onto its right side and the rider impacted the rear quarter panel of the Chevrolet.
Due to injuries sustained to the motorcyclist, he was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital via PennSTAR helicopter. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were not injured in the accident.
The Hatfield Township Police Department is continuing its investigation into this crash. Assisting agencies at the scene were the Hilltown Township Police, Volunteer Medical Services Corp, Hilltown Fire Company, Hatfield Fire Company, Souderton Fire Company, Souderton, Colmar, and Fairmount Fire Police, and PennSTAR helicopter.
