During the weekend of March 15, 2019 through March 17, 2019, the North Penn Area DUI Task Force will be conducting roving DUI patrols within Hatfield, Franconia, Upper Gwynedd, Marlborough, Towamencin, Lansdale and other jurisdictions in the North Penn Area. This effort is to identify and remove impaired drivers from the roadway, which include State Route’s 63, 463, 113, and 309 as well as other state, county and local roadways. The purpose is to provide a police presence on the roadways during the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The patrols will be conducted in areas that have been identified as locations where alcohol has been a significant factor in unsafe driving and vehicle crashes. In addition to driving under the influence, enforcement will also include aggressive driving, unlicensed or suspended operator licenses, proof of insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle equipment and other traffic violations.
The North Penn DUI Task Force would also like to remind those who chose to drink, not to drive and seek other transportation options that are available.
Anyone with questions concerning this event, please contact Corporal Michael Sloan of the Hatfield Township Police Department at (215) 855-0903.
