On April 18, 2019, Megan Shapcott was arrested and charged with (1) count of Discharge of a Firearm Into an Occupied Structure; (1) count of Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License; (1) count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person; (1) count of Borough Ordinance Violation - Discharge of Firearm. These charges stem from an incident on April 16, 2019, in the 200 block of Union Street in Hatfield Borough during which Megan Shapcott carelessly handled a loaded firearm. Megan Shapcott negligently discharged one round from the handgun which exited the exterior wall of her residence and struck a nearby house across the street. No one was injured during this incident. Megan Shapcott was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Juanita A. Price who set her bail at $5,000.00 and scheduled her preliminary hearing for May 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM at District Court 38-1-28.
