On February 9, 2019, Hatfield Township Police Officers responded to the area of County Line Road and Trewigtown Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. Responding Officers found that the crash occurred when the striking vehicle, operated by Joseph James Morgan, crossed over the double yellow lines while traveling northbound on County Line Road and struck another vehicle that was traveling southbound. All three occupants of the other vehicle were transported to the Hospital for several injuries.
Mr. Morgan was found to be in possession of a controlled substance during the time of the crash. Investigation also revealed that Mr. Morgan was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the crash. An arrest warrant was later filed for Mr. Morgan's arrest. Mr. Morgan turned himself in and was taken into custody on April 4, 2019. Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy arraigned Mr. Morgan and set his bail at $10,000 cash and scheduled his preliminary hearing for April 11, 2019 at 12:00 PM at District Court 38-1-18.
