On January 30, 2020, a Hatfield Township Police Officer responded to a financial institution located at 1500 Cowpath Road In Hatfield Township regarding a counterfeit check deposited into a customer's account. Investigation revealed, Aaren Jennings was recruiting people through social media that had existing bank accounts. Aaren Jennings would request their debit card and then deposit counterfeit checks into accounts at ATM terminals with the promise of splitting the check amount once it cleared.
On March 10, 2020, Aaren Jennings was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Edward Levine on charges of Forgery, Theft by Deception, Access Device Fraud, Bad Checks, Corruption of Minors, Possessing Instruments of Crime, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Conspiracy to Commit Forgery, Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Deception, Conspiracy to Commit Access Device Fraud, and Conspiracy to Commit Bad Checks. Magisterial District Judge Edward Levine set his bail at $50,000 unsecured and scheduled his preliminary hearing for March 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at District Court 38-1-28.
