On June 26, 2019 at approximately 11:13 PM, the Hatfield Township Police Department received a complaint of a physical domestic disturbance that occurred between a juvenile female and her adult boyfriend, identified as Axel Banegas-Vasquez. The victim stated that Banegas-Vasquez drove to her residence on Needham Circle in Hatfield Township and forcibly pushed her into his vehicle after she refused to get in. While in the vehicle, Banegas-Vasquez repeatedly punched and struck the victim in the head and face. The victim was eventually able to exit the vehicle but was pushed to the ground and kicked by Banegas-Vasquez. Hatfield Township Police Officers did observe scratches and swelling on the victim's face and head.
On June 27, 2019, Banegas-Vasquez was taken into custody and charged with False Imprisonment of a Minor, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Harassment. Banegas-Vasquez was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy, who set bail at $50,000 cash. Banegas-Vasquez is currently incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 11, 2019 at 11:30 AM.
