On July 12, 2019 at approximately 10:35 PM, Hatfield Township Police Officers responded to the 2600 block of Elroy Road for a report of an assault involving a knife. The victim of the assault identified the suspect as Isaac Abbott. The victim stated that Abbott lunged at him with a pocket knife during an argument. The victim attempted to protect himself from the knife, which resulted in him sustaining a laceration to his left hand. The two continued fighting until Abbott fled the area on a bicycle. Responding Officers located Abbot riding his bicycle on Elroy Road. Abbott was visibly intoxicated and ultimately taken into custody without incident. Abbott was charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Possessing Instruments of Crime, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Harassment, and Public Drunkenness.
On July 13, 2019, Abbott was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Edward Kropp, who set bail at $5,000 cash and scheduled his preliminary hearing for July 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Abbott was transported and lodged at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
